Meet Your Instructor!
Lilja (Voetberg) Rasmussen started playing fiddle at eight years old and since then has become a prominent fiddle player in the Voetberg Family Band, traveling around and playing nearly 1,000 performances, winning numerous fiddle championships and teaching hundreds of students.
Today, Lilja heads up a local Music and Arts Camp in her hometown, with her husband, Blake, and passes on her love of playing fiddle to her four daughters. Georgie and Marde have already won competition awards at the young ages of 2 and 3, and you can catch them joining in with our incredible students on our Student Showcases.
Lilja makes Fiddle playing simple, and will take you from the basics of tuning your fiddle and adding tapes to your instrument, to playing flashing show pieces!
FAQs
When does the course start and finish?
The course starts now and never ends! It is a completely self-paced online course - you decide when you start and when you finish. You will receive one lesson per week to encourage consistency but once the lesson is released you always have access to it.
How long do I have access to the course?
Voetberg Music Academy is a subscription based online academy. You will have access to this course on any and all devices you own and will be charged monthly as long as you are subscribed to the course.
What age-range is this course directed at?
We recommend this course for anyone 8 years old to 108 years old. However, depending on how involved you want to be as a parent, this course can be great good for children younger than 8. We just recommend they first complete Fiddle 2, or have had 6-12 months of in-person lessons.
